I agree with you.
However, as a starting pitcher's parent, I think we are so nervous because we know they only get one shot in a game played every 4 or 5 days. If he messes up, you know you have to wait awhile 'til the next you see him on the mound!

The more confident the catcher, the more confident the pitcher.
