In fairness to Perfect Game, basketball (hoop scoop I believe) has ranked kids from 5th or 6th grade up for some time now.

I just think the whole notion is ridiculous. I played with a guy who never picked up a baseball till eigth grade and ended up being drafted. Also, how will this effect the psyche of some these kids?? Being told you're an all star or not very good at 11 can be equally damaging in my opinion.

Kids today have to grow up too fast...They're always in competition to be the best or most talented at such a young age. Ok, I'm off my soap box now.
