Ouch Goose! That hurts a lifetime Friars fan's feelings . Sadly, it is not necessarily untrue and I got used to it long ago. As I say EVERY year, maybe this year will be different!
As a Rays fan, I know I can expect a competitive team that has a very good chance of getting a wild card. I also can expect: 1) a team with a payroll that is roughly 3x Tampa Bay's beating the Rays in the playoffs; 2) attendance near the bottom of MLB (but probably better than the Marlins); and 3) a 2021 roster that will be missing nearly every player who would have earned over $5M that season.
At least the Red Sox seem to have taken themselves out of the 2020 AL East hunt. And the Rays should be a lot of fun to watch, so long as I don't let my expectations get (too far) out of line.
