Having said that, I feel that family events have to have a priority as long as they are not too frequent and enough notice is given. For those saying bring Granny to the game - she may not be physically able to do so. Or she might. Good idea with which to approach the family, however.
If this event is in town, is it necessary for the boy to miss all three games? Seems unlikely that the bd party will last that long.
