I am acquaintances with a certain cy young winner's sister. She told me this story years ago. When her brother was a freshman in high school, the football coach walked up to his dad and said why don't you have him come out for the football, I could really use him. He'd be a monster. Dad said to coach "you don't understand, he's probably going to be drafted. I don't want him getting hurt". Coach said "oh".
