Your info is kind of vague. It varies from team to team, based on what kind of players you have on roster. Are you coming from a defensive standpoint or a batting order standpoint. If it is a batting order standpoint, I differ from some there. I firmly believe in batting my best down to my worst - occasionally I will bump a better batter to the bottom for those scoring opportunities that occasionally get their start down there. You can only count on a batter being leadoff or clean-up the first time through and if you bat that clean-up batter first, he will see an extra at bat usually. It also changes what a lot of pitchers will throw at him.
Defensively, there are a lot of variables. I use 1st base as a place to play my pitcher from the last outing a lot. But then I do have 3 LHP's on roster, so there is a secondary reason. Play the best two infielders in the middle (2nd/SS) and the strongest arm at third. In the outfield, I always go with my best outfielder in LF, the fastest in CF and in RF whoever is left.
My lineup is almost always based on who is hitting the ball. If you are scoring runs you can afford to give up a few. Hold out of the line-up a pitcher (last one that pitched, if 1 day or less since pitching; or if another game is coming up, your next pitcher) - to give them rest and your worst player. Hope this helps!!
