I don't believe any admission of guilt was requested or required. Being at a party where alcohol is being served (evidenced again by the picture, I presume) is enough to get you the boot. The fact that he appeared to be partaking in the festivities probably sealed his fate and made the suspension longer than it might have otherwise been.
