Reading this I'm wondering how common lying about height is when it comes to recruiting videos and other information.

Happens a lot. I see tons of 5’8 kids listed at 6’. It’s one thing to go from 6’1 to 6’2, but most coaches know what 6’ looks like. Just like they can see the kids who work out and the ones who don’t.
