I disagree that a WH visit and honors is a recruiting influence. Baseball is a "different" type game. We all know that Fresno could field the identical team in 2009 and not even make the tournament.

Winning your conference more often than not is a recruiting influence. One team each year rides talent and luck to the CWS title but 30 get a ring. After that, it is a crapshoot.
