I agree with this, and we did this. However, note that once recruiting is over you need to do some housekeeping. Otherwise, it can create problems, as it almost did for us.
Once my kid committed and was admitted to college, he told coach "use my REAL email, not that other one", and gave it to him. Coach said ok, but over the summer a bunch of stuff piled into the recruiting mailbox, which the kid and I had both stopped checking, and as a result he came within a week of missing the deadline for all his sports paperwork, which could have cost him the ability to participate in fall baseball. Fortunately coach eventually followed up with a text. (which is really the only way to communicate with a teen)
You can also set up auto-forwarding to the main email account... if you can deal with all the camp invitations.
