My son (our family) has a recruiting situation that I thought that someone out there could possibly help him with. He has been offered an "official" visit to a school that has already made a very generous(I feel)verbal athletic scholarship offer. This visit will take place the first part of November. He has three other schools that are interested in him, only one (D II) of which he will have visited prior to visit to the first school. The other 2 schools (D III) are excellent academic schools and have very good baseball programs and facilities and are quite a bit closer to where we live.
The issue is this. The coach from school(D1) that he will be visiting the first part of November wnats him to make a decision regarding accepting that schools offer the weekend of his official visit. Like I said that will be before he has visited 2 of the other schools. How can he stall for time or talk to the coach to allow him time to visit the other schools and then make his decision? The coach did explain to my son that he needs his decision this soon so in case my son does not accept the offer he can pursue other players. I also understand that committing to a DI or DII is binding and backing out can cost you a year or two of elgibility.
Any help that someone can give me on this one would be greatly appreciated!!
