Fungo, my son's ucl was frayed before it tore. I'm not even sure if it will heal itself without surgery. His ucl was long and doc was able to reattach. His surgery was 7-2-04. He just started a progressive throwing rehab this month. He did have pt 3 times a week for a little over 2 months. I'm sure this is not of much help. Good luck-pomom
