I'm pulling for your son! BB is a tough ride at the higher levels. Remaining, healthy, injury free, having someone believe in you and having the good fortune (or luck) to get that timely opportunity have much to do with making it! Another Key, key, ingredient is self confidence and having a bull dog mentality necessary to endure that long path without being washed out. Certainly sounds as if he has the latter!

F.Y.I., I read a great article today posted on SI, by Verducci I believe, about the Cubs Bryan Lahair. The path he traveled to get his chance and the bumps that so many players hit; being released, Rule 5 and so forth but still somewhere hold on and make it. Players like; Boggs, Batista, Mattingly, Ortiz and so on! It's good reading and worth passing on to young players.
