Once it becomes a tag play, no signal is given. Simply wait to see what else happens. And, PU should not signal "safe" when the runner crosses the plate. Only when it is a tag attempt at the plate and he touches it or it is a force play and he touches/passes it.

Otherwise, see if he does and do nothing else.
