i am asking the of the role of the individual hitter as he prepares to hit. What preparations as he in the dugout, on deck, at bat.

focus on the white ball.

Not the sky, the moon, the movement of the defense. Only the ball!, all the distractions have eliminated before the hitter enters the batters box.
