My son was offered a roster-only spot at his dream D1 school - with the suggestion he could earn scholarship money perhaps his so, jr or sr year. Tough decision - but we chose another (both instate and scholarship) route. We just weren't comfortable paying out of state tuition on a handshake.
Turns out the HC (and staff) did not have their contacts renewed and new coaches will be entering the program. What would have happened in this case? Would the new HC honor the roster only offer? Would he even know about it in the transition? Would we have been SOL?
Just wondering...maybe someone out there has had a similar experience. I'm thrilled we went the route we went (especially considering this) but it just makes me wonder...
