It is foul to fair, when 3B is standing with 1 foot in foul ground the other fair over the bag to begin with young players aren't aggressive enough to go through him to the bag, when a pick comes from the pitcher. Catchers have a lousy time picking my runners when 3B does this he takes away the trowing lane of his catcher, but blocks out the base when the pitcher throws over. I coach 11-12 yo. They are learning but it is tough to get them to go through 3b, it may be a class mate of his he does want to get hurt or hurt his friend and I don't want that either. The game should be fun at that age.
