Reply to "runner interference:"

Only one fielder is entitled to interference protection at a time, so the umpire must determine which one that is at that moment.

If he protected F4 here, then no interference. If it was F3, then it very likely was interference. The runner's 'intent' means nothing- if he impeded F3 and he had the play on the ball, runner is guilty. However, if it was F4's ball all the way, its not impossible that F3 was guilty of obstruction of the runner...HTBT.

Without seeing the play and both F4 and F3's positions relative to the ball, its really tough to say. The mere fact that F4 dived for the ball doesn't mean he had a better play on it than F3 did.
