Some scout teams, depending on who is the scout are really good for instructional purposes. It probably will not lead to much concerning the draft, I am not sure that is the intent of scout teams, just really good baseball. If that is the purpose (draft) it may not be worth the time you have to spend. The other opportunities you speak of
may make more sense to play for the team (oportunities).

I believe that when players take opportunities and use that time to get better, work really hard not just expect things to happen because they are good (so is everyone else), things WILL happen.

My son played for an associate scout in HS and he learned a ton. Probably the best coach he ever played with.

Ironically, the team the coach was affiliated with was STL.


Strange things happen in baseball and scout teams can be beneficial. Bum, Jr. was in the Mariners Cup as a junior in h.s. and was not drafted by them.. the first time around.

It's all about talent, tenacity and getting your name out there.
