I can't think of any reason to wait. I would do two things:

- Send him to a PBR showcase in Feb with the sole intent of documenting his velo. Should cost $150 or less.

- Make a 1 minute video of him pitching with a gun showing his velo in the frame. Include a view taken from the 3rd base side. Email the video to all the schools that he's interested in, along with profile information (incl ht/wt and summer coach).

College coaches will generally take a chance on a RHP your son's size before they would on a smaller guy with similar velo. Start creating the interest now to get him on the radar of college coaches for the high school and summer season.
