Reply to "Showcase Stats on More Average HS Players"

Surprising to compare pitching speed (from a mound with best of several tries) with the outfield crow hop throwing speed. Mound was much faster in some cases. A Stalker gun was used.

I'm guessing the pitchers had a long time to warm up while the fielders were just handed the ball and told to heave it.

Running speed is interesting too. Not every little skinny kid is fast. One 5'10" 160 pounder did a sloth-like 8.53 secs. In fact, kids weighing less than about 150, were generally slow. The fastest runners clustered around 170 pounds.

I'm told the kids ran in pairs on a flat stretch of outfield...less than ideal.
