I disagree. We are not in the 1950s anymore. Mike trout last year broke his hand last year sliding head first and missed almost two months. That is a huge loss for his team that costs millions of dollars.
Use every protection you can to avoid injuries, we are not in the tough it out era anymore.
If you are worth more than most corporations, slide feet first.
