I don't disagree, TPM. It's more of a matter of what you're comparing it too. Omaha and Nebraska in general hasn't had the hardtimes from unemployment, housing values, etc that most of the rest of the country has....but values are still down and unemployment up compared to better times. They don't have near the state and local gov't budget problems we hear about around the country. But if you ask locals, sure it's tough.

As for the stadium, people hated adding lights at Wrigley...but they are over it now. You don't hear many talk about old Yankee stadium any more. Some people hated Texas Stadium closing, but they are over it now that Jerry's World is open. I have not seen it with my own eyes, but it sure looks like they did a good job with Rosenblatt's replacement...and in time people will see new is better. And, believe it or not, people will start saying they like the additional parking the Zoo now has.

And woody, trust me those beer gardens will travel!
