That's because the decision is made from a personal point of view and is the right decision for THEM at that point in time, even if others may choose differently. Gee, with hind-sight wouldn't many of us have changed a decision or two if we'd only known what was coming next? The key to the question is that this is a choice not many players get to make and until you're in that situation, everything is just speculation.
