Thanks for the well-wishes, but Sarasota was unable to finish the deal today. They were simply handled by the good pitching of Witkowski of Flanagan. They gave it their all, and though I and the others associated with this team were disappointed in the outcome, I can safely say I couldn't be more proud of my son and his teammates with what they achieved this year, and the way they carried and handled themselves, both on and off the field.
They enjoyed many wins with class, and they endured the final defeat with dignity. The coaches have taught the boys well. ...about baseball, certainly, but also about character.
After I get a chance to compose my thoughts followings yesterday's championship loss, followed by driving straight to graduation commencement exercises across town, I'll pass along my read on what turned into a fun ride, and produced a slew of memories to last a lifetime.
