I’m sure you have mentioned it as have others including myself, but that wasn’t my question. I’m wondering how pervasive it is to give the other guy credit? I know when my kid was pitching and gave up a hit, the 1^st thing I thought of wasn’t what a great job that hitter did, and I doubt I’m the only person who’s such a wretch.

There were many times I saw a batter hit what looked like a great pitch and I was somewhat angry but accepted that the batter won that battle. But there were a lot of times a batter got a duck fart on a pitch over a foot off the plate in or out, or up or down, and the 1^st thought that came to me was how lucky he was. IOW, the 1^st thing I believe that comes to most peoples’ minds isn’t to recognize the skill of the opposition.
