This journey is over. The game was great, the talent was expected. No score and extra innings. They matched runs in the first extra but gave up runs via walks in the second. As it turns out the kid was the last AB. The pitcher had gas but his velo dipped at the 2nd inning. Kid fouled a FB for 2 strikes and swung through another for a K. I could see the look of disappointment as he walked off and the opponent celebrated. Despite the hurt, everyone will look back at how successful the trip was for them, I think being one of the final 32 teams was impressive, but they kids had higher aspirations. We are feeding our sorrow at Poe's. I will remind him again later that failure will always be the best teacher.
