20dad,
I wasn't on TV and for good reason.... allergic to cameras! Or maybe they're allergic to me? Remember Ralph Kramden on Honeymooners?
David Rawnsley from our staff did a good job (I thought) He is a talking machine and the only one involved in the telecast who has actually SEEN most of the players.
After the ESPN thing David and Allan Simpson (also a PG person) went directly to mlb.com for the rest of the draft coverage. The rest of us did our thing in the background and long before draft day.
I can understand why some might think it was boring, but it's one of the biggest days of the year for us. And I really do think it was good for the game.
