Try living out where my kid plays [West Texas / Pahandle]. If there is not a local coach [THSCA] or sportswriter [TSWA] from the kid's neck of the woods willing to go to bat for a kid, then no way he makes the list. Most won't stick their neck out, and so some pretty good ballplayers get left out. Also, notice how some programs, in good years and bad, always seem to have one or two kids on the lists. Jason Becker's Texas Baseball News is a good source if you want to see who some of the better kids are, but although he does some great prospect lists, he does not do an "all state" list so to speak. There's got to be a better way.
