THANK YOU BASEBALL

Below is a social media post from my son. So darned proud of him…

Wednesday, 3/29/2023: The night before opening day… a little different this year…

All my life I have aspired to become a Major League Baseball player. In 2018, the Boston Red Sox gave an undersized, undervalued kid a chance to achieve that dream. That kid was doubted his whole life. Told he wouldn’t play Division 1 Baseball, told he wasn’t big enough to be drafted, told he would never be a Professional Baseball Player. That kid proved a lot of people wrong, and had so much fun doing it…

Baseball has taken me so many places, given me the opportunity to meet so many incredible people, and taught me lessons that will make me successful in all that I pursue in life. I gave my all between those lines every single day and night, and I am grateful to those who helped me, fought alongside me, and watched/supported me have the time of my life playing this game.

While it is bittersweet to kick off the 2023 season from a different viewpoint, I have zero regrets about the journey I embarked upon. This game can be cruel.. but I know I played it the right way and respected it at all times, which allows me to peacefully lay my head down at night knowing I gave all I had and did it the way it was meant to be done.

Thank you Baseball.
