The dreaded Jinx

First game of son's Senior season yesterday he had a no-no going into the 5th. Good defense behind him save for a couple of dropped fly balls by the OF it seemed to be a spectacular start.

He's got 2 outs bottom of the 5th. In the zone doing his thing.

Im watching the game online and I notice he looks over into the dugout, shakes his head. Throws the next pitch and the batter laces a single through the gap between 3B and Short. Single. No hit bid flushed. He finishes the inning and then Coach pulls him in 6th after a couple more hits. Proud dad.

He calls me after the game talking about this and that. I asked him what distracted him in the 5th when he looked into the dugout and shook his head. He said one of his teammates belted out "wow, he has a no-no going!" Guess what? Next pitch - Single! LOL

He said he wanted to throw a ball into the dugout! Jinxed! He was laughing about it.

Gotta love the game of baseball!
