Reply to "third base positioning."

If it is what I think it is I have seen it before. It is called pitch away play away. It is very succesful at the HS level and I have even seen it work at the college level. The only thing is it hinges on the pitcher keeping the ball on the outside part of the plate.

Down falls I have seen is when oppo guys come to the plate it feeds into their plans. Also if the pitcher misses over the plate you tend to catch the defense out of position.
