The CWS is not about the best conference. Otherwise the Big South would be the best conference last year (as justbaseball suggested) and the ACC the previous year. When UVA won it in 2015, I did not think the ACC was the best conference overall.

The CWS is about the eight teams that catch fire at the end of the year, and prove they have the team depth to carry themselves deep into the post season. There is no end of season best conference award but I'm willing to bet the SEC is humble enough to accept such an award.
