Hard to say how he would have been treated if he kept the money and showed up to try to get on the team, but in an 18yos mind, the power is for sure not in his hands in that situation. I understand how your son may have felt. It's on the coach for putting the players in the position and that was his decision. And the do it over and over because they know that they can get away with it.
