Reply to "Troll, accidental troll or just plain lying?"

In the first, his complaint is that USSSA wouldn't allow his 10 year old to play in a AA class tournament because the boy had played on Major classification teams. (USSSA rule 3.9 prohibits players who have played up a year or more from going down in classification in their own age group.) OCB purportedly couldn't fathom why the TD made that ruling. "Now my son is 10 years old, he is not a homerun hitter or a pitcher. He is just a solid ball player." OCB goes on to request advice: "So my question to most of you is how would you handle this. Do you just let it go and allow them to apply the rules only to a certain few? Would you pursue this legally? Do you try to rally media, friends and peers to combat this? What do you tell your kid?"

In the second thread he makes this claim: "How many 10 year olds you know that can tee off on an 85mph machine and turning on inside pitches from 55ft. How many 10 year olds you know that has played against 13 and 14 yr olds that go 2 for 2 or 2 for 3 hitting and is considered by kids at that age as being a tough out. How many 10 yr olds you know that workout on a 60/90 field from SS that can make the throw from the deep hole on a line to 1st. How many 10 yr olds that play up in the 12u bracket you know that has zero strike outs in his last 43 at bats."

These two posts simply do not jibe. In fact, at least one is a fabrication. Any kid who can throw on a line from the hole on a full-size field has no business in a 10 year old AA tournament. Nobody could believe otherwise, or contemplate legal action to force his participation.

So, is OCB a troll, making up a scenario for his amusement? An accidental troll, having started out with a genuine (however misguided) post, and ending up goaded into telling some whoppers?

I don't know.
One thing I do know: I really don't like being lied to in these forums.

Hey 3 finger. Why dont you believe. Is it because maybe a few of those things that 10 year old can do maybe your 14,15 or 16 year old cant? Do you not think I understand how rare/unusual some of these events are for a 10 yr old..LMAO anyone who knows anything about baseball would. Why do you think I am so proud as a father. Also how stupid would someone have to be to make this kind of $$$$ up and post it LMAO, you cant be that dumb.

Also again lets turn the tables here for one sec. Why start a thread that has nothing more to do than to try and degrade and slander another member. What are your motives??? You dont agree with the post then dont respond. You think its BS what a poster says then laugh at it and dont respond. But I can tell you now you are the one with the motive here not I.

PGstaff first 3finger needs to learn what a troll is before accusing someone or using an internet definition and trying to apply it to me or anyone else LOL. A troll is someone who comes in to a board and trys to take over various threads with no real intention of offering any real advice or commentary.

So 3finger you dont like being lied to and I dont like being called a liar and slandered. The differnce is I can prove what I have said. The only downside of being able to prove it is I would want something back in return.
