My son's 9U team had a couple of pitchers throwing in the mid 50's. They peaked in the mid 60's when they stopped growing. They were bigger and stronger than the other kids at nine. The reason I know these kids threw in the mid 50's is their dads gunned them at their pitching lessons. I have no idea what my son's velocity was at nine, nor did I care. These two kids threw from short to first accurately on a line on the 46/60 field. But it was not on a line from the hole.
