Wow. Thank you for your opinions. I have emailed Mrs. Claiborne. I am very anxious to hear from her about her son's experience.
Tulane officials make it sound as though the students are very safe. We are used to New York and the "big city" and have no real fears about it. You learn to be safe, protect yourself etc. We are not coming from small town experience with those concerns.
This sounds like an entirely different thing.
A little ( a lot) scary.
