I've got to call out TRhit on his rather casual remark, even if it was made over 4 years ago. . In terms of metropolitan crime rankings, Detroit is #3, Miami is #23, Chicago is #27, New Orleans is #82, and my home town, New York, is ranked #136.

Whether or not you agree with the NYPD's methodology, there is no denying that New York is virtually in a class by itself when it comes to how safe it is.

If you haven't visited in a while, check it out--the city is doing great.
