This is true. You need to find out what the schools insurance will cover as the secondary insurance. They may only cover up to what you have left over if you went in network for your insurance. You would then have a big out of pocket expense for going out of network.
Good luck, its a long hard recovery. My son had TJS a couple of months ago and is just out of the brace. Things have been/are going smooth and its still a long long recovery to get to back to the point where he can even start working on getting good again.
I just had him put in a call. Unfortunately none of the MLB guys takes our insurance. We have one local guy that did but I don’t know how many he’s actually done etc. The office that I did make the appointment with said they’d work with us and not to worry that it would be worked out. The other 2 wanted payment upfront, and then I could see if insurance would reimburse me anything. I just cannot afford to do that.
