TR- why do you think that is at N.D. what I hear is that they still maintain rather stringent grade and conduct code policies that keep many away. Or have they simply not recruited well.

From my observation, more stringent academic requirements have put some hurt on the USC baseball prorgam (inelegibilites, transfers etc.) and the program has been a bit on the decline.

Stanford and a few others such as Rice seem to be able to keep the high acaademic and athletic balance, at least to some extent in certain sports.

by way of example, I think Randy Moss was originally headed to South Bend and may have even enrolled and left for Florida State, where even they couldn't handle him.

As is discussed on this board and people need to know that athletic skills are great, but grades, grades, grades are needed to get in and stay in college.
