Thanks for the replys. These throws are in order from the beginning of the first game. I think the throwdown during play was in the second game, but his mechanics are basically the same every time. I know he is a good catcher. My dad is a scout for the Reds and goes to a lot of games, including all of my brother's games, and he says Jared is the best catcher in his league. Jared is only a sophomore and probably has the best arm on the team, but a great arm can always get better with better mechanics. I was never a catcher. Jared basically taught himself how to be a catcher by mimicking major league catchers on TV. You wonder, why is he asking us about his brother when dad is a pro scout? Honestly, dad doesn't want to be overly picky, so he doesn't say too much. It may be for the best. My dad scouted Moises Alou back in the day and in the comments section of his player report wrote: "Too raw, not a prospect." That has turned out to not be true, but you can see how picky he can be.
Jared is going to a catchers camp this summer that my dad really likes. When I share the video with Jared I'll relay the comments from the board. It will be really helpful for him to see himself while thinking about your comments on what he might do to improve.
