Most do not provide anything until after fall. They officially can not give you anything until your freshman fall season. Then D1's give everything including gloves and bats. Mine had to show up with his stuff then got his team stuff after fall.

We keep

Glove: Any all-purpose fielders glove 13" should work.
Shoes: molded cleats (can be a little uncomfortable for multiple games a day) or trail running shoes (check 6pm.com for a great end of life deals from Zappos/amazon).
Bats: There are two main materials for bats so check with league rules which are allowed. Composite and Alloy. Composite bats are the more expensive but longer hitting bats
