What to do?

This evening, I was informed that I scored high enough (3rd Place) on a knowledge test to advance to a 3 day state competition known as SkillsUSA. My instructor communicated that he was very proud of all who were accepted, and later told me that I am seen as a leader on the team. While this is all great, I come to a crossroads. As a Junior with the possibility of starting at catcher this year, should I decide to attend the state competition, I would miss 1 conference game --against our biggest cross town rival--, and a non-conference double header, as well as an off day. I am reluctant to ask for time off, as I wish to start this year if at all possible. Also, I have also been granted time off for a church mission trip to Nicaragua, over Spring Break. Should I relinquish my place at the state competition, I would be letting my team down as a leader as well as possibly be giving up recognition on college applications. But should I decide to attend the competition, I let down my other team, also as a leader, and possibly throw my chances as a starting Junior. I come here to see what views you guys can provide. I am unsure of what action to take, and I hope you all could shed a little light on the situation. Should you be curious about any other details please ask. I would be more than happy to provide info.

With Greatest Thanks,
TG
