Let him do a Gap year overseas. How about a year in Japan, learn the language and play ball? There are lots of great programs that let him grow in ways that going to school can never accomplish.

He comes home, physically a year older, socially a year older, intellectually years wiser. He is already ahead of the curve academically. Baseball will be there, if he has the equivalent of his AA he will already run out of his 4 in 5 if he starts school right after HS.
