Reply to "What to expect"

2014RHP,

It is true.  Your son may get some extra looks because of that projectability, but your son is probably still going to have to work his tail off to find the right program.

There are nearly 900  D1/D2/D3 colleges in the US with baseball programs.   I'd request a face to face with his travel coaches to see whom is in their network of possible interested programs.  Next, I'd create a list of schools your son is interested in, and cross reference that with the travel coaches list.   I would not just rely on the travel coaches finding a fit for you.  You have to take ownership of the process.   Essentially, you are dividing and conquering how your son can  get in front of all those coaches through showcases and camps.  This may double your son's exposure and target the schools he is most interested in.

This comes from personal experience.  My son's national travel coach knows many people, and opened many doors for my son.   However, it is a big baseball world out there, and you can't know everybody.  So, I would take ownership of his recruiting efforts and leverage all resources to get to his college baseball end goal.

Good luck!
