Reply to "When to apply to committed school"

Depending on the school there are:

Early Decision (ED): *Binding, can only do this for one school. Apply by ~Oct/Nov, get answer back in Dec
Early Action (EA): Non Binding no limit on # of schools. Apply by ~Dec, get answer back in Jan
Regular Decision: Apply by Jan 1, hear back in ~ April

If your school has ED, I would go that route so you can have it all wrapped up with a bow before the holidays.

If, in the rare case, something unexpected were to go wrong with the baseball offer, that would be reason to get out of the ED restriction (it's really only morally binding, not legally, though that's just my opinion)
