Some of you keep confusing what coaches can do and what players can do. Pay no mind to quiet periods and dead periods or any other coach rules - unless you are patiently holding your breath for the phone to ring and then you won't hear from them until after July 1st after junior year.

Players can contact any coach at any time they like at any age. Once in contact, the coach can make an offer. Could offer a 7th grader if they so desired and I do believe USC offered a 7th grade quarterback a year or so ago.

Don't be confused by verbals or what not. Don't verbal unless you are "committed." If you verbal, it should be treated the same as a committment unless something extraordinary happens - e.g., coach leaves the program, etc.
