I suggest that you try out for the position at which you think you will perform the best. Most coaches will pick the best ball players and then they will decide what position you play.

Be prepared, be confident, and do your best. Positional play will only be a part of the try out. Every kid will throw, hit, and run. The top players will likely be identified before positional play is started. If you can throw the ball, catch the ball, and swing the bat, you'll make the team.
