I was wondering the same thing about the two kids from Portland ME who chose Vanderbilt. Why wouldn’t they go to University of Maine at Orono? It’s only two and a half hours north of Portland and four and a half hours north of Boston.
One of them graduated this year. He’s slotted at about 1.2M. He may sign. Is it wise to reclassify when you’re potentially the top high school pick in next year’s draft? The other has another year of high school. He also has a 95 mph fastball.

Several tippy top prospects have reclassed lately. I think the notion is that they will be one year younger when they reach free agency. Watched the #2 and #12 draft picks play this last weekend. Wasted time for them competition wise.
