We (Blazers) were 4-0 in pool play (scoring 21 and giving up 3) and were the #1 seed out of 72 in Jupiter!
We lost to the eventual runner up Dallas Tigers in the PG tiebreaker in the round of 8 (extra inning load the bases with 1 out).
Believe me we had 4 pitchers left in the barn...we had plenty of depth.
Not to be argumentative but I agree with Sox...the difference in overall talent is not what it once was... I think though that overall you find a higher volume of top and polished prosepcts in the warm weather states but there are so many tournament teams down there that the talent sometimes gets spread out.
What some of the teams in our area who've had success have been able to do is concentrate our talent onto 1 or 2 teams. Problem is you have to work harder scouting (because of the lower # of top prospects) and get these kids to play for your team. That problem doesn't exsist in FL, CA, GA, TX...plenty of talent to go around.
